Urban Practitioners is committed to operating in a way which embraces social, economic and environmental sustainability. We place a responsibility to society and the environment at the forefront of our thinking on all our projects. As such, our work is guided by the following objectives:
- To integrate environmental and social objectives into decision making processes;
- To prioritise inclusive processes and ideas;
- To advocate best practice examples and encourage sustainable responses;
- To provide objective appraisal of the likely impacts of design proposals;
- To control our own impact by minimising the use of resources;
- To ensure that our stationery and office supplies are carefully selected to be as environmentally sustainable as possible, for example by using recycled and FSC certified papers and recycled plastics wherever possible;
- To maximise our use of sustainable transport modes, walking, cycling or using public transport wherever possible;
- To maximise the proportion of our waste which is recycled, by participating in a collection scheme run by Paper Round; and
- To support local services.
